  • Cool 3-D videos on Youtube.
    by Cameron
    Posted May 15th, 2010 at 9:40 pm
Here are some really sweet videos on youtube that are in 3-D. They work the same way as the old Magic Eye posters that I am sure everyone experienced back in the day. Just keep the videos minimized and either cross your eyes or try and defocus your view to blur the two images into a center one and you will have 3-D video. The bottom two videos use the typical blue/cyan 3D glasses so if you have some bust them out to check out the videos. Some of these are pretty crazy and an explanation to youtu...
  • James Cameron urges NASA to put 3-D camera on new Mars rover

Me being a complete astronomy geek this is one of the most amazing things I've got to write about so far. James Cameron met with NASA administrator Charles Bolden saying a mars rover with a better set of eyes will help the public connect with the mission. This convinced Bolden who now has plans to affix a 3D Mastcam onto Curiosity, Mars new rover. This opens up just mind-blowing possibilities. We have all seen pictures of mars by now, but to sit in a theater and watch the martian surface com...

Apple has filed a patent that would allow users to attach their iphone, ipod or other devices to the glasses which have special lenses in them that split the picture into two images, one for your right eye, one for your left eye. The image will also be in high definition. I would say judging by the next part these glasses will be fairly expensive. They will have sensors embedded in the glasses that detect the precise location of the users eyes and adjusts the image accordingly. The devic...

    by Cameron
    Posted April 16th, 2010 at 4:25 pm
Samsung issued some warnings on their website earlier this week. They say pregnant women, drunk people and "those who are sleep deprived" should not watch 3-D television because of potential health issues. They also say anyone who has risk of stroke or epileptic seizures should consult a medical professional before watching TV in three dimensions. If that wasn't enough of a warning they even have some that apply to everyone. "Viewing 3D television may also cause motion sickness, perceptual ...
