The trailer is not online just yet…so I will do my best to explain what exactly goes on during the trailer.
The trailer opens with Sam Flynn talking to Alan Bradley on top of the Encom building. Alan tells Sam how he just received a text message from his missing father from a number that was disconnected 20 years ago. Bradly says Kevin Flynn was on the cusp of a technological breakthrough when he went missing and that he would have never left that or Sam behind. Bradly gives Sam the keys to Flynn’s arcade and Sam gets on his motorcycle and races to check it out.
The next scene Sam goes into the arcade which has obviously been closed down for a very long time, plastic is over all the arcade games and straight ahead is the video game Tron. Sam finds a secret door behind the arcade game and opens it to discover his fathers secret lab. The scene then shows the laser from the first Tron movie and the screen goes black.
When it cuts back the world is now in 3D (up until then the trailer was in 2D). It then shows Sam in a light suit descending on an elevator. It then goes into several few second clips and I don’t remember all of them. One was of a light cycle speeding towards a giant glowing city. Another was of Sam walking towards a bright light. During all these scenes crazy music is just absolutely blasting to the point where if you tried to talk you couldn’t hear your own voice, and every thump is shaking your entire body to the bone. Then we hear Sam say “Dad” and then Kevin say “Sam” “Long time” “You have no idea”. At the very end of the trailer a light bike smashes into another one’s beam.
There you have it. The trailer got me absolutely pumped to see this movie. It was amazing, and the music by Daft Punk was just mind blowing. I want to experience it again, and again. Hopefully the trailer will be online soon enough (although it won’t do it any justice watching it on your small computer screen with computer speakers).
