20th Century Fox has just announced that James Cameron's Avatar will be re-released in theaters on August 27th with over 8 minutes of never before seen footage. "Since - and largely as of result of - Avatar's release last December, the number of available digital 3D screens has exploded, and moviegoers who missed experiencing the film in 3D, as well as fans that want to return to Pandora again, will now have that opportunity," the studio said.
Only 8 minutes really? The movie is already 162 m...

One of the best selling films of all time will now be available to own tomorrow. Avatar will be released tomorrow on Bluray/DVD. If you have not seen this movie yet, do yourself a favor and buy it, not rent it. It's a movie that won't get old even after watching it 10-15 times. I can't wait to see this movie again, and I am very interested to see if it will still have the same feel when it's not in 3D. If you want to buy it, amazon is having a deal right now where you can get the Bluray/DVD comb...

Avatar will be re-released this summer according to THR. James Cameron and Fox are in talks to bring Avatar back to the box office. The re-release will feature previously un-released scenes that will bring the movie to 170 minutes long, which just so happens to be the maximum limit for an IMAX film.
The two scenes that may be included may be a scene where Jake Sully has to prove himself to the Na'vi people, and another showing a native festival. From a business perspective this is a great...
Alice in Wonderland Beats Avatar on Opening weekend

Avatar's record opening for a 3D movie was short lived. Alice in wonderland took in over $116 million from Friday to Sunday, which definitely trumps Avatar's opening of a mere $77million. This is all U.S sales only though. Avatar is still the king of international sales. Avatar took in $242 million while Alice In Wonderland took in 210.3 million.
I think you can explain this by Avatar being the ultimate hype machine and it did all the heavy lifting to get the ball rolling and bring attention ...

Ok, ok so this really has nothing to do with 3D but I decided to post this anyways. Sigourney Weaver hosted Saturday Night Live last night and in the SNL Digital Short James Cameron made an appearance as well as an Avatar haha. I got a good laugh out of this. I mean its cats with lasers!

The website i09 posted a really amazing article in which they talked to the designers behind Avatar. I strongly recommend reading the entire article here. I happened to be channel surfing today when I saw James Cameron was on the Oprah show so I tuned in. A few interesting things that he revealed is that he actually hired a linguistics expert to design the entire Na'vi language. So rather than making up a language as the actors went along he wanted the language to feel the same in every scene. H...

I'm sure anyone that saw Avatar could see this next statement coming a mile away. Conservatives are out on the prowl and looking to boycott the movie as it is "Anti-American". Taken from Breitbart:
"However, there is one thing about the movie that really upsets me. It is blatant anti-military and less blatant anti-American. Without giving away too much of the plot, the bad guys in the movie are the United States Marines. Apparently, in the future, the world has become one big country th...
